Can someone explain what this means. I'm a fairly new Priest, and haven't heard this term before today.
Basally, any amount of healing that puts the target above 100%. 100% is the max, so anything over that is wasted.
Healing over the max isalled "overhealing", and is generally something you want to avoid. It shouldn't be as high on your priority as say, keeping people alive, but avoiding it will irease your mana effiey.
Have you been reading the big thread about overheal? Some useful info in amongst our QQs Generally though don't worry to mh. Overheal > Dead People.

Thx Boyz, You answered my questionompletely, and yes, I read that thread whh is why I asked the question. It seemed like lot ofhat about something so simply explained. I'm still not sure why that thread made sh an issue about the top. But basally, use your heals wisely to save mana! Other than that, are there any other negative effts to "Overhealing"....I mean statally, or aggro...e..e... Thx again
Nope, other than mana management, there really aren't any other side effts.
So, I've read a buh about the 3.1 pah and what it means for holy priests. I'll be the first to admit I don't understand the ramifations of all of it. Sie we won't be able to rely on the 5SR rule as mh, and sie overheal is going to really make a huge differee in mana management, what is a resptable overheal peentage? I ran Naxx10 tonight in my mostly T7.5 gear, and had 19% overheal total by the end. I'm sure that's a bit high (although the pally had 73% overheal, LOL). Both
of us were a bit overgeared for it, so I'm sure that inflated it quite a bit. If I rallorrtly, my overheal from this week's Naxx 25 was more like 14%. What is fepalm worthy, and what is reasonable?
